Seems to be a good release, at least inspector-wise :) I really like

i cannot find a download link.
i assume it's made "difficult" to find on purpose.

Firebug 1.6 is intended for Firefox 3.6 and 3.7
AFAIK it still works with 3.5 so far, but we won't manage backward
compatibility with 3.5 (Fx API are different).

If you want, you can manually change the min Fx version in install.rdf
(you take the responsibility).
Instead of:
