I can't reproduce that using FF 15.0.1 + FB 1.10.4 on Win7. So I assume another extension conflicts with Firebug. Please deactivate all Firefox extensions except Firebug and try it again. Does it work now? If yes, re-enable the extensions one by one to find out which one is the culprit.
This all seems to have started happening since the orange borders appeared...

Hi Sebastian,
It seams as though its related to the enabling the 'enable accessibility enhancements' option...
When I switch this option off, everything works as before (not sure how this came to be enabled, must have checked this in error). When I switch it back on I get the weird behaviour again...

Ok, thanks for the info. I guess it's a combination of both, the accessibility enhancements together with a Firebug extension. At least I can't reproduce the problem by just having the accessibility enhancements enabled using FF 16.0.1 + FB 1.11a4 on Win7.
