Using firebug 1.10.2 with Firefox 14.0.1 does not execute the javascript reliably.

In the attachment, the code for lines 189-193 (see Firebug screen capture), cannot be selected for breakpoint. When tracing a line at a time, the procedure 'set_qRefMap' appears to return to its caller after line 188. It never reaches line 190. When this code is run without Firebug, it runs sucessfully, without exception and without failure.

The program that causes this is rather large and will take some time to reduce to a minimal case -- if that can be achieved at all...

I have now reverted to using pop-up alerts to debug my application.

Can anyone please make a recommendation of which versions of firebug/firefox I should revert to in order to get to a last known working combination?

Thank you.

Sounds like issue 5790 and similar ones.

I reverted to FF 5.0b7, using FB 1.8.4b1. That version did not have the "undefined" breakpoint issue.

However, that version caused an immediate upgrade to: FF 11.0 and the complementary FB version. That did have the "undefined" breakpoint issue.

I have  reverted a second time to FF 5.0b7 and adjusted the option setting to prompt when upgrades are available. I will save my current version of my program that exhibits the issue and will be happy to test it with any future versions to confirm that the issue has been fixed.

Exhibits issue 5790:
FF 14.0.1/FB 1.10.2
FF 11.0/FB 1.9.2

Does not exhibit isue 5790:
FF 5.0b7/FB 1.8.4b1

Thanks for the investigation.

I added a link to this thread to issue 5081 as well as my own observations.
