Subject: Re: Firebug 1.10 beta 1

Hi there Honza,
I just wonder why the firebug addonbar icon is discontinued in 1.10. beta?

Placing the firebug icon from top onto the addonbar does not give me the
functionality of the former addonbar-icon. And pressing F12 it's not the
same.

In case of javascript errors AND closed firebug-window, clicking the
addonbar icon will always open firebug with the list of javascript-errors.
When debugging javascript, it was of great benefit to me, knowing that a
click on the addonbar-icon will always bring me back to the errorslist,
even if I previously clicked on another tab in firebug. With pressing F12
it's not just one more mouseclick. The prob with F12 is, that I always have
to find out which firebug-tab I currently opened, meaning I have to switch
in my mind from debugging javascript...

I love firebug, and just wanted to post my thaughts. Like a few times
before I have reinstalled an older version of firebug (back to 1.9). This
time I unmarked the auto-update functionality, cause I definetely rather
have a firebug addonbar-icon than any added other functionalities...

warm regards

What if (left) clicking on the Firebug icon would open Firebug with
the
last selected tab and clicking on the error counter (the badge) would
open Firebug with the Console panel selected?

See issue 4001 <http://code.google.com/p/fbug/issues/detail?id=4001>, which
describes exactly that.

Two notes from my side:

   1. By having "beta" in the title the first-run-page code can't correctly
link to it. It assumes http://getfirebug.com/firstrun#Firebug 1.10.0b1.<http://getfirebug.com/firstrun#Firebug%201.10.0b1>
   2. Links to AMO should not contain en-US/, so people will see the side
   in their language.
