Subject: Each Firebug update crashes my entire system

Alright gentlemen.

This is getting out of hand. I keep getting very random system crashes the
past months and I have been baffled as to what has been the cause. However,
everytime when I force reboot, I notice that the Firebug plugin has been
updated (as the tab opens when I launch Firefox). The past few times this
happened, I thought that it must be something else but this time I can
definitely confirm that this is the issue.

Here is my system:
OSX 10.6.8 (very latest update of snow leopard)
Firefox 14.0.1

I will find a way to make it not auto update any more. If there will be no
solution to this, I will be forced to remove this plugin which would be a
shame as I have been using it since the very first version.

Please report Firefox crashes<http://support.mozilla.org/kb/Mozilla%20Crash%20Reporter>to Mozilla providing precise steps what you do before it crashes. We can't
fix Firefox bugs. But please backlink the report here, so we can follow it
and maybe be able to provide a workaround.

To turn auto-updating of add-ons off you can do the following:

   1. Go to the Add-ons Manager via *Firefox* button > *Add-ons* or *Tools*>
   *Add-ons.*
   2. Click the gear button at the top and uncheck *Update Add-ons
   Automatically*.

I would like to note that I have seen other users posting about freeze
issues here so I am sure it is related to the same source of problem.

Might be, but as long as you don't give clear steps to reproduce your
problem we don't know and the problem can't be fixed.
Btw. the general steps to follow when having a problem in Firebug are described
in our wiki <http://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/I_found_a_Firebug_Bug%21>.
