Hello,

As many of you probably already know first hand, signing out of Gmail
with a Firebug enabled Firefox will crash the browser. Googling has
resulted in no solutions so far, only similar reports from other
people.

My question is, are the Firebug devs aware of this bug, and are they
planning to fix it?

Thanks.
Jeff

Yes; please see the Firebug FAQ.
I have no plans to fix it. Its a FF2 problem that is fixed in FF3.
Disable Firebug for pages with Google ads.
John.

Also, if you need to use FF 2.0 you have to not just "disable for
gmail", but actually disable FireBug from the "add-ons" list...that is
the only way I can logout of Gmail w/o crashing (every damn time).

I have found that if you have another tab open at the same time, that
it will avoid the crash when you close the gmail tab. There will be a
small freeze, about 3 seconds or so, but it shouldn't be fatal.

The other reports are about logging out of gmail. Is that the same as
closing the tab?

I've experienced both, more so closing the tab, but occassionally
logging out does it too.
