No, Firebug only operates on objects in the browser and changes
are not propagated to the server.

Firebug has no ideas about the actual technology used on the server
side.

Though note that there is an approach to create a mapping between the URLs and the file system paths of the scripts behind them.

Also there are some Firebug extensions, which allow synchronization of the CSS with the server.

Thanks for the hint! The UI seems pretty intuitive. Firebug's UI could get some inspirations by that.
