We removed the tee-listener implementation of the firebug-cache. This
means:
Problems with XHR in a26 and a27 should be fixed.
Double loads of resources will be back.

Also the update.rdf from getfirebug.com isn't working for me. I can't
figure out why. If anyone either succeeds in getting the update or
knows why it fails, I'd like to hear.

Do you know what caused it to break the ajax stuff? It was weird
because that stuff worked for me for a few requests and then it
stopped functioning.

So am I right in thinking that, based on what that bug says, AJAX
response inspection is working for any requests that don't take place
during page load?

This update problem was very likely also a result of the problems with
a26 and a27.

If you are running a26 or a27, I suggest you move to a28 manually.

What is the URL for the update.rdf?

http://getfirebug.com/releases for downloads
If you have a26 or a27 you have to re-install from the site, update
will fail.

Ah, i see, it was the release itself not the url that had an issue.
