After upgrading from firefox Beta 3.0b4 to 3.0b5, I can't seem to run
any javascript from the firebug console.

When I try to run "alert('hi');" I get the following...

commandLine.evaluate FAILS: [Exception... "Security Manager vetoed
action" nsresult: "0x80570027 (NS_ERROR_XPC_SECURITY_MANAGER_VETO)"
location: "JS frame :: chrome://firebug/content/commandLine.js ::
<TOP_LEVEL> :: line 100" data: no]

Has anyone else seen this yet?

here is the previous thread about it. it is a known, and currently unresolved(?) issue.

I set the valid range for Firebug 1.1 to 3.0 because I thought the API
was frozen. It changed between 3b4 and 3b5. So Firebug 1.1 won't work
on FF3 after all. We're going to push hard on Firebug 1.2 for FF3.

even more Firebug 1.10b12 crashes Firefox Beta 3 (3.0b5)

steps to reproduce
1. search something in google
2. open any search result
3 back to google tab and try to change text in search field

with disabled firebug ff works fine on google.

This thread is not about FF3 crashes. "even more...crashes" is not at
all an accurate characterization of the FF3 status. FF3 has been very
stable for me, even as a beta and even though I do a lot to abuse it.

If you do have a reproducible crash with FF3 and Firebug, please
report it to http://bugzilla.mozilla.com. (Firebug cannot fix
crashes). Please include the links to the crash reports which you can
find in your browser using URL "about:crashes".
Thanks,
John

1.2 seems to work with the console and be reasonably stable with b5
