ok so i got firefox 3.5.6 and everytime i try to install firebug i get
an error saying that whatever version of firefox it is not supported
by firebug. what to do?

Firebug 1.4.5 works on FF 3.0 and FF 3.5
Firebug 1.5b6 works on FF 3.5 and FF 3.6.
Firebug 1.5b6 works on FF 3.5 and FF 3.6.
What version are you trying to install?
