It is with deep regret that we pass on the below email from the Portsmouth Fire Department announcing the passing of Firefighter/Paramedic Sarah Fox following her long and courageous battle with cancer.
The Board of Directors has reached out to Portsmouth Fire and offered any assistance they may need in the coming days and weeks. We will pass on additional information as it becomes available. Our thoughts are with the Fox family and friends and the members of the Portsmouth Fire Department during this difficult time.
Respectfully,
It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that the Portsmouth Fire Department announces the passing of retired firefighter and paramedic Sarah Fox. Sarah was an 11 year veteran of the department who retired on June 30, 2011. She succumbed to a courageous four-year battle with cancer today at Concord Hospital surrounded by family and close friends. The department is working with Sarah’s family and will support them throughout this very difficult period. At this time no specifics are available on a date for her funeral services. When arrangements are formalized an announcement will be made.
