Dear KIDPROJ Participants,

This letter of explanation is sent to KIDPROJ in the middle of each month.

The KIDPROJ list is the official home of KIDLINK long term projects.
KIDLINK welcomes a rich variety of projects for participating kids between
10 - 15 years of age. We invite teachers/youth group leaders to submit
applications to have their projects approved to be run through the global
KIDLINK network across the KIDPROJ list. KIDPROJ is not a list where one
should send surveys, ask for welcome messages or invite others to join in
private class to class projects.

Aproval of projects
-------------------
Project organizers wishing to use the network should submit an application
to KIDLINK's KIDPROJ Coordinator:

Patti Weeg, at pw...@shore.intercom.net

The application should contain the following information:

1. a copy of the invitation planned to be sent out through
the KIDLINK announcement list, and

2. information as to whether the project is to be coordinated
by adults, or completely run by kids 10 - 15?

3. information about the planned time scale plus any start and
completion dates.

Proposals meeting the criteria set out in our current policy statement (GET
KIDLINK POLICIES) will be accepted as KIDLINK projects. Special consideration
will be given to projects that will help us better to represent the world
community.

NOTE: KIDLINK identify with no political points of view nor do we promote
specific solutions to world problems.

KIDLINK may make material/information about world problems and associated
projects to solve these problems available to the local organizers of the
KIDLINK projects. These files can be retrieved from KIDLINK's archives. Such
information will not be distributed to KIDCAFE.

Projects that are not approved as KIDLINK projects, should contain no
reference to KIDLINK, and will not be permitted to use KIDLINK's discussion
list/forums.

Reporting requirements
----------------------
Coordinators of approved projects are expected to report progress regularly
through KIDPROJ-COORD.

The KIDPROJ Coordinator will send regular announcements about KIDPROJ
to the KIDLINK list.

Discussion of project ideas and plans should take place on the
KIDPROJ-COORD list.
