Not as tight or as good as Animal Crackers and the story is lacking
here. Silly yes, often stupid but still enjoyable anarchistic farce
and a lot of fun. Adorable anarchy is in fact probably the best way to
describe the humor of The Marx Brothers. 7/10

Maybe it was the particular mood I was in this time around but I
actually did enjoy this Marx Brothers film which is surprising given
that I was very disappointed with two of their most famous films in
"Duck Soup" and "Animal Crackers".

Unlike Animal Crackers which felt like it ran too long, this film is
about a half hour shorter and thus less repetitious. The mayhem and
anarchy that the Marx Brothers ensue on their fellow characters and
themselves is much more entertaining here and flows well within their
environment along the cruise ship. They move at a rapid pace and find
themselves in one situation to the next and it really keeps the
interest going in the viewers. Even though their was a slight plot to
this film as in most Marx Brother's films, it seems like the less
story there is the better and more freedom the Marx Bro's have to
entertain and cause raucous. I also think the more I watch of their
films that I am growing fonder of their personas and it is becoming
more of a delight to see Harpo and Chico's gags and Groucho's snappy
one liners. I still do not see the point in including Zeppo though, he
has been absolutely useless and talent-less in the films I have seen
so far. I wonder if its the other brothers fame that keeps him in
minor roles in the films. 7/10

Zeppo dropped out later but I think his role is important because we
need one normal person to drive the story forward :)

I'm with you here Bobby, the more you get to know the characters the
more you like the films. I think your enjoyment is mostly because of
that.

not the best way, imo, but certainly one of the ways.
For me, there greatest genius has always been in their clever word play,
which comes straight out of their Jewish heritage .
