to FIGHT! The Fighting Game RPG
While I have some idea what it represents I wanted to get some official
word on what this Technique does. What does it look like "on screen" so
to speak since I'm not familiar with the game(s) that inspired it.

" It's like humans landing on a planet where 70 percent of the surface is covered in molten lava, and the inhabitants are basically just moving sacks of lava. Even the atmosphere is so dense with lava vapor that often lava just rains from the sky with little to no warning. So what's your plan of attack? If you say anything other than "Jump out of the spaceship completely naked, your junk proudly flopping about, and engage the lava monsters in hand-to-hand combat," then congratulations -- you are smarter than the aliens in Signs."

If you are referring to the option in Round 2, Close Combat comes from the oft-ignored MK vs. DC.  Visually, it is a series of close-in strikes, like elbows, headbutts, and the like.  Think of the Bourne-style krav maga that all the kids love these days. :)

I think it would be a good fit for a more "realistic" game.

Ah okay, that's kind of what I thought but I wanted to be sure.
