More Blair Witch Investigation From Oni
This March Oni Press is going back to the Black Hills near Burkittsville,
Maryland in The Blair Witch Chronicles #1, the first of a 4-issue
mini-series by writer/researcher Jen Van Meter and artist Guy Davis.
According to Oni, in the tradition of their first original mini-series, here
Van Meter "has cracked open the dusty history of the Blair Witch and found
more first-hand encounters with the mysterious figure. In our opening book,
we travel back to the 1950s. A teenage prank in the Black Hills goes
horribly wrong, leaving two people dead and the others afraid to talk -
until now!"
The issue also contains a two-page preview of Guy Davis' new Oni Press
series, The Marquis, plus information on a brand-new Artisan Entertainment
website.

Buffy and Angel Spoilers

Warning: spoilers! Or at least rumors of spoilers. We cannot vouch for their
authenticity until the episodes air!
Buffy episode #12, "A New Man," was written by Jane Espenson. In it, Giles
is transformed into a demon after he goes out drinking.
In the upcoming Angel episode "Somnabulist," the title character has dreams
about committing murder and wakes to find the killings have actually
occurred, so he fears that he may be the murderer. Then, in "Expecting,"
Cordelia spends a night with a wonderful man and wakes up in big
trouble...she's very, very pregnant.

Battlefield: Earth Sequel Worthy

Screenings of Warner Bros.'s new science fiction adventure movie
Battlefield: Earth went so well that a sequel is already in the works. The
film is based on the first half of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard's
novel of the same name. Plans to film the second half of the novel are
already in motion.
Ironically, devout Scientologist Tom Cruise's film Mission: Impossible 2
will be competing with Hubbard's Battlefield for the Memorial Day weekend
box office.

3 Teen Sci-Fi Series In Development
Phil Pinette
Three teen-oriented science fiction shows are currently in the works by
producer Neal Moritz for Columbia TriStar Television. Kar Kulture, being
developed for UPN, will be a one-hour comedy set in an alternate universe.
Another parallel universe story, Both Sides Now, will be shown on ABC. It
portrays two alternate life paths of the same man: one in which he breaks up
with his girlfriend and another where he stays with her.
Finally, for NBC, Moritz is working on Dark Visions. According to The
Hollywood Reporter, the series will deal with a group of
psychic-power-enhanced teens who take over a government research project.

Does The 'M' Stand For Monopoly?

Having apparently dealt a blow to Microsoft, the Justice Department is now
playing the monopoly game with MTV. And this game has nothing to do with
Free Parking - it's another antitrust battle.
The department is looking into allegations that MTV's control over the music
video business harms would-be competitors and could cheat artists out of
royalties. The accusations come in the face of pending purchases of two new
music-video channels by MTV's parent company, Viacom.
Established in 1981, MTV now reaches 72.6 million cable homes in America,
not counting viewership in countries around the world. The Music Television
Network and her parent company also own VH-1, M2 and The Box, leaving their
closest competitor, the mostly Canadian-viewed MuchMusic, in the dust when
it comes to market saturation.

Museum Honors Classic Sci-Fi Films

The American Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, NY will sponsor a
science fiction film series entitled "The Future Is Now." The series will
screen December 11 through January 2 and will cover visions of the future
from Fritz Lang's silent classic Metropolis to Sylvester Stallone's
Demolition Man. Other films in the series will include Alphaville, Farenheit
451, Planet of the Apes, Sleeper, Mad Max, Blade Runner, and Brazil.

March X-Force, X-Books Preview

Fans of Marvel's X-Universe have been chomping at the bit for a look at some
of the changes coming to the X-family of titles beginning in March. Today a
few very telling images have been released.
The Diamond Comics Distributors website has posted a preview of some images
and solicitation copy for two of Marvel's March X-titles, Cable #79 and
X-Man #63, and Fandom's X-Fan website (www.fandom.com/x-men) got the
accompanying early look at artist Whilce Portacio's rendition of X-Force.

Rings Photo Preview
Backstage photos from the Lord of the Rings feature currently filming in New
Zealand have started popping up on the Internet. Both the Ain't It Cool News
and The One Ring websites have posted images from the film based on the
works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
The accompanying photo shows actress Liv Tyler, who plays elf-princess
Arwen, riding on horseback with a costumed-dummy.

For the third year in a row, The X-Files has finished in first place in the
syndicated ratings. Since first appearing in syndication in 1997, repeats of
the science fiction drama have finished in first place in 102 out of 111
weeks.

MTV Makes Daria Movie Star
Daria, MTV's perpetually-sarcastic, teenage diva, will be the star of her
own animated television movie next year. According to Abby Terkuhle,
president of MTV Animation, Is it Fall Yet? will follow the bizarre cast of
characters from the Daria television series as they survive summer vacation.
Continuing plot threads from the regular series, the animated film will
feature celebrity voice cameos from the likes of Carson Daly of Total
Request Live and singer Bif Naked.

Action star Jackie Chan and comic actor Chris Tucker will team-up once again
for a sequel to their popular action/comedy Rush Hour. Chan was paid $5
million to appear in the original film and will probably bring home three
times that amount to star in the new feature.
Sources say that Tucker will also likely be well paid. The actor, who only
agreed to the project if Chan was going to be in, will probably make in
excess of the $13+ million he's expected to earn for Black Knight, a feature
that's set to begin filming in April. Rush Hour director Brett Ratner has
signed on to direct the sequel.

что людей, одновpеменно удовлетвоpяющих условиям "умеет бегло читать

Я извинился уже. Виноват. Исправил. А урл не проще. Насколько я знаю, далеко
не у всех Инет есть. Во-вторых, я это делаю не систематически, просто
одновременно были новости открыты и ру.видео, вот и не удержался. :)
