get rid of warnings

It is nice to see that there is ongoing work on FFPACK!

It would be fine if you also could
get rid of the (type conversion) warnings after you finished the
refactoring.

Hello again !

can you provide us with an example/s where there remain warnings about type conversions ? And what compiler/version are you using (and what warnings do you enable, more than -Wall -Wextra -Wno-unused-parameter ?)
I tried to remove them when compiling linbox with --enable-warnings. But there may remain some (possibly many of them) in parts of the code that is not tested/not included. Some parts could even be non functionnal/compilable... There is still much porting to to in examples/benchmarks and tests.

don't worry too much about the warnings until you almost done with the
refactoring.

And yes, we used following additional flags

-Wuninitialized
-Wconversion
-Wcast-qual
