Hi,
Somebody just gave me some mystery MXF files to try to ingest into our Avid production system.
Ffmbc 0.7 rc 4 choked when I fed it a file - something on the lines of Error = -1
There were accompanying XML files which implied that the clips were EVS IMX50 - does FFmbc actually support EVS?

Thanks

Hi,

FFmbc does not support EVS MXF currently.

Best regards.

Hi,

Is there a way now to read EVS MXF files with ffmbc 0.7.1? I got many EVS MXF DNxHD files from a French broadcaster and I would like to rewrap them into Op1a, or any standard format. EVS can provide an app for this process but it runs on Windows only (at least I think, since I am still fighting with this app to try to rewrap a file!). I uploaded a sample file at the following address: http://www.opsomai.com/download/EVS.zip. This archive is password protected, because it is not a free video. I am going to send the password to Baptiste, but if anyone is interested, I can send him the password. The archive contains the EVS MXF file and its associated XML that gives all the information about the video format.

Best Regards

Samples isn't the problem, but here are more files (no password).  I can make them all day long.

It seems that the only way to export these EVS files to a standard MXF format is to use EVS software, namely XTrace. Even OpenCube MXFTk toolkit is not able to convert these files! I guess it must be seen as a full proprietary format, even if it is based on standards.
