I have the Ferret Nation 142 with the additional level. Overall the
cage is quite tall, you can divide it in to three seperate areas and
it is super easy to get in to and clean since the front opens all the
way up. I looked at the Martin's cage and three things come to mind:
the FN cage is on wheels and it has a heavy powder coat paint along
with the huge openings for access. The Martin's isn't on wheels, it
has limited access (check to see one in a store - can you get a litter
pan full of poop out easily?) and last but not least it is standard in
galvanized. They also had a pvc coating... if I was to go the Martin
way that is what I would want.

Tina,

I help with intake for Ferrets Unlimited Rescue Services. During that time,
I've both owned and worked with a variety of donated cages. I can't speak
highly enough of the Ferret Nation cage. It is so easy to clean and
maintain, and holds up far longer than other cages have that cost almost as
much money. Being movable with locking casters is a definite boon, as is the
coating on the bars that make them so easy to wipe off.  The shelf under the
bottom section is tall enough to hold a large variety of ferret "stuff", and
since the shelf is made of the same coated metal grate, it doesn't collect
debris like a solid shelf will. The shelves inside the cage adjust with one
hand, and the front opens up the height and width of the entire cage. The
plastic pan has a lip all the way around, and pulls straight out
horizontally, so spills stay inside the cage and are easy to clean. The
doors securely latch, and I've never seen a ferret, no matter how smart or
determined, escape from a Ferret Nation as they have done from other brands.
You can also order additional or replacement pans to make cleaning even
faster. Hammocks can be attached to the bars and the spots under the half
shelf that are designed to attach clips to are sturdy enough for large
hammocks that will hold several ferrets. I use carabiner clips in my cages
rather than shower curtain hooks. I find them much easier to work with one
handed. The cage bars are also spaced properly to hold most locking crock
style bowls securely.

Just let me know if you have any questions about Ferret Nation cages. They
are worth every penny I've ever spent on them, and I wish I could get my
money back for the others. If you shop wisely, you can find great deals on
the FN cages right now.
