The Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars Program

An 11-week program that brings rising college seniors and recent college graduates to Washington, D.C., where they are placed in Congressional offices and learn about health policy issues, with a focus on issues affecting racial and ethnic minority and underserved communities.

Program Eligibility

• I recently completed my graduate degree. Can I still apply to the program?

• I am a permanent resident, am I eligible for the program?

• Is the program only open to racial and ethnic minorities?

• I do not have an academic background in political science or in government. Can I still apply to the program?

• I graduated three years ago, but have yet to start graduate school. Am I still eligible to apply for the program?

• Do I have to be a U.S. citizen in order to be eligible?
