Project Description:
A fellowship opportunity is available with the Biotechnology Core Facility Branch (BCFB) of the Division of Scientific Resources (DSR) within the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID)
at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). BCFB is committed to providing high quality synthetic biopolymer reagents and advanced analytical methodology to the CDC scientific community.
As a part of a BCFB laboratory team, the chosen participant may have the following opportunities:
Synthesis of and structural characterization of peptides and oligonucleotides (e.g., peptide antigens, labeled peptides, and peptide nucleic acids (PNAs))
Purification and structural and functional characterization of microbial and human host proteins
Assist with developing and validating molecular assays (ELISA, Luminex, qPCR)
Data evaluation and preparation of reports and manuscripts for publication
