The shortcut keys for merging and deleting text were very useful. I
had two issues during the alignment.
1) The number of slides was 89; however, Align Assist (AA) picked up
only 75 of the Japanese slides, and 89 of the English slides. I'm not
sure why this issue occurred.
2) The Japanese ppt file had notes given to me for translation. The
slides were for reference.
When I aligned the files, the Notes appeared on the left side
(Japanese), so I had to delete all of them by hand.
Is it possible to exclude Notes BEFORE the alignment process?
3) A suggestion if I may - possible to include an operation to delete
all identical source and target segments? (such as COT, SOLAS and
other English abbreviations names that appear frequently in the source
and target columns and need to be deleted by hand)
4) The alignment process can be finished in a jiffy if AA does not
segment after a full stop in abbreviations such as Ref. 1, Fig. 2 and
so on. The target segment splits after Ref., Fig. and the figures 1, 2
... are placed in the next row, which needs to be merged.
This was the first alignment job I did after doing so in Trados 7 more
than 3 years ago. AA is definitely more user-friendly and easy to work
with (although Trados Align might have improved - I don't know).
Thanks Ryan, for the excellent AA that you have released to the general public.

Thanks for the feedback on Align Assist.

If you can send me the files, I'd be happy to have a look.

It's not possible now, but that's a good idea, thanks.

Another good suggestion. It would speed up many types of alignment tasks.

This is a good idea. Right now, with Word and PowerPoint you are able to
specify a list of abbreviations. I will add a ticket to be able to do this
in Align Assist as well.

Ryan
