I am having the same problem. I just moved my blog from typepad to
wordpress and I can't udpate my feed.

I want to put in http://www.realsoftwaredevelopment.com/feed/atom

but it keeps giving me the dreaded: Error getting URL: 404 - Not Found

It is a valid feed. The old feed address was http://www.realsoftwaredevelopment.com/atom.xml

What should I do?

Your feed does not pass validation however:

http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.realsoftwaredevelopment.com%2Ffeed%2Fatom

Hmm... You are right about that feed. The only other thing I can think
of is that maybe your server/host has mistakenly blocked requests from
FeedBurner's servers...
