Why Feedburner Destroys the Feed Experience for Blogger Blogs?

Feedburner Feeds for Blogs with Blogger (blogspot) or even blogger's
own feeds (atom.xml and rss.xml) just destroy the whole feed
experience for the feed subscribers.

Just have a look at the Internet News section's feed of Reuters.com
here:

http://feeds.reuters.com/reuters/internetNews

How nicely it is displaying the feeds' content of today, just giving a
few lines of the new news and subscribers are to just click on the
headline and they will be taken to the page at reuters where the news
belong.

While on the other hand, have a look at the feed of my blogger blog
here:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/ScreenwritingFilmmaking

It is showing ALL, Every Single Word and Image, that is present on my
blog, which it should not, but just like Reuters.com feeds, it should
be showing just a couple of lines of my each blog post and the
subscribers when will click on the headline should be taken to the
page on my blog.

ANOTHER PROBLEM with Feedburner:

When redirecting the feed url in blogger, the sitemap that i have
submitted to Google Sitemap gives unbelievable, strange errors. So, i
had to keep the feed url in blogger to 'atom.xml' and not to the
feedburner url. Hurray! the sitemap didn't give any error without the
stupid feedburner feed url.

Is there any solution for these two problems? or Feedburner is purely
useless for blogger blogs?

If you want just only a few lines of content, the go to your
Feedburner account, under Optimize, look fot "Summary Burner" and
there you can setup a summary for your readers to see everytime they
click on your feed's items.

Thanks a million Apu! That was very helpful. I am now able to
shortened my long blog feeds. You are great.

Can you also help me with how can i redirect my blogger blog's feed to
my blog's feedburner feed in a way that i do not get errors in Google
Sitemap?
