Our apologies: there was some trouble with the standard rollup process
for our site statistics process: the upshot is that reporting under
Analyze > Site Stats didn't get going again properly until today, 30-
Jun, around noon CST. Stats should be accumulating continuously from
this point forward. No settings changes or adjustments in your account
are needed at this time. If you were seeing stats previously, saw them
drop to 0 for Sunday, and have *not* seen them return at all today,
please post a follow-up here and we'll investigate.

This is exactly how I've been experiencing it as explained. I'm in
Australia so I'm a little ahead on timing. Two hours after Matt wrote
this post I'm still not back up. Hopefully later today.

Hey there,

Fix is live. I'm seeing some site stats edge in for your site now as
well. Bear in mind that you won't see numbers more like your usual
full day until tomorrow, 1-Jul. Thanks for the follow-up.

since June 21, publishinganswers.blogspot.

Hope we can get to the bottom of everything soon for everyone.

I see Site Stats counts for most days since June 21, including
yesterday. (admittedly Jun 29 is going to be zero due to the issue we
smacked into this weekend). I'm looking at site stats for:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/PublishingAnswers.

One other note: you should redirect your feed traffic in order to get
a complete picture of your *feed* stats:

Matt,
When I go to my account, I don't see any subscriber or visitor count
info, in fact is still says Stats isn't on even though I've had Stats
Pro since I started.

I've never done anything with Feedburner/code except install it
originally and the automatic install did most of that. I don't really
know how to do what you advised.

I just went in to try to activate the stats or pro and just like for

activate now, I click the boxes, save but nothing changes. I've also
seen this error at the topThe URL you entered does not appear to be a

It sounds like we're talking about two different feeds. When I view

the following:

If the email did go out today, it sounds like a temporary problem
polling your feed for changes occurred yesterday. The number reported
on Analyze should shoot back up when you view reports tomorrow
(Wednesday).

Hello Matt -

I've had the problem you described with the Analyze > Site Stats
dropping to 0, and they still haven't gotten back to normal (it says
something like 1 or 2 visitors a day with average time spent on the
site 0:01, which I know is wrong as my Google Analytics account shows
normal visitor numbers).

The address of my feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/elenapopova

Looking forward to hearing from you!

That explains that; the feed you're looking at there is
feeds.feedburner.com/PublishingPossibilities. http://feeds.feedburner.com/PublishingAnswers
is owned by a different account, so you appear to have two accounts on
our system.

Since your email subscribers are on http://feeds.feedburner.com/PublishingAnswers
and your Site Stats are there as well, you should probably delete
feeds.feedburner.com/PublishingPossibilities and the associated
account to eliminate potential future confusion.

I can't find our site stats code anywhere on your site, so I'm having

Matt,
I'm completely confused now.
Until June 21, I clicked a link in my search bar to take me to
Feedburner, it remembered me, I did not have to log in. All of a
sudden, that day I did so I entered the only login I can think of.

Everything was the same, I have one feed the blog,
publishinganswers.blogspot. When I put in the title, I may have
entered publishing possibilities because that's the title that's
always shown up when I hit "my feeds". Only diff is that since then
there are no stats.

I don't know how I'd have two accounts. I own publishing
possibilities.com but there is no site nor blog. I do have a Google
Analytics account, but still not connected to publishng
possibilities.

I tried to put the page with the ending you indicated into my search
bar and it came up feed not found.

I have no idea what happened or what to do.

Matt,

I uploaded and activated the FeedBurner FeedSmith Plugin (my site's a
WordPress powered blog). From what I understood, that would be enough
to get the stats going. Is there something else I need to do?

I'm having some problems too, but only with one of my feeds

That plugin is for redirecting feed traffic to FeedBurner to ensure we
track 100% of your feed stats. Our Site Stats product is completely
separate; it requires you install a script in your site templates.
Please visit Analyze > Site Stats for your feed to see the
instructions for how install this script for WordPress for your
specific feed.

Looks like a linebreak got into your templates; the script call for
Site Stats is broken. It looks like this right now:

<script src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/MinibookExpoForBloggers?
i=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.minibookexpo.com%2F2008%2F07%2Ftorontoist-
welc.html" type="text/javascript"></script>

that script should all be on one line with no linebreaks/returns.

control over the embedded code in the templates.

Actually, my mistake; it's not line-broken. I misinterpreted the
source view I had.

However, I think I see the problem. The script call's "src" is

http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/MinibookExpoForBloggers

but your feed address is

http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/MinibookExpo

That ~s part is ok and is part of our script URLs, but
http://feeds.feedburner.com/MinibookExpoForBloggers doesn't exist.
Maybe you deleted it and renamed it after activating the script in
TypePad?

This is not really a reply to anyone; I just have problem that seems
to fit the thread title.

I'm showing 0 visitors for today, yet my WordPress stats show 37.
Almost all of those visits came to a specific archived post (from a
link in a comment section of another blog) instead of the general blog
site url. Will those not be counted, or is there something else going
on? I've noticed the Feedburner stats are always lower, but never
anything like this.

If I'm only counting visits to the main page, is there anyway to
change this?

Thanks.

I work for the Christian Science Monitor and we use Feedburner to
track our feeds. Since last Friday, most of our feeds have been
reporting incorrect information (I hope). In one case, according to
the current data on Feedburner, we lost 450,000 subscribers. Could you
look at our account (account username: 'jabrams') and see if you can
help us out?

If your FB site stats script is only installed on your main page
template, that seems likely. You should also install the script on
your "archive" or "permalink" template as well in order to get site
stats for individual days.

Alternatively, Google Analytics, installed in a location all of your
templates use (for example, a footer), will track your entire site
without multiple script installations.

Thanks, Matt. When you say "Google Analytics, installed in ... a
footer" is that the same thing as the FB site stats script? I just
copied and pasted per the directions to put the script into my index
file in the first place. Should I just copy the same script into the
footer.php file?

Bear in mind, wide fluctuations in feed stats are completely normal
(and inevitable) if your subscriber count average is less than ~25 or
so. It's just the nature of having a narrow list of possible feed
readers and aggregators requesting your feed.

Whobody

Thanks Matt.

Here is what I'm seeing.

Feed 1 - 2
Feed 2 - 1
Feed 3 - 1
Feed 4 - 2
Feed 5 - 4
Feed 6 - 1
Feed 7 - 2
Feed 8 - 2
Feed 9 - 1
Feed 10 - 1

I will then check it 6 or 12 hours later and see this:

Feed 1 - 0
Feed 2 - 0
Feed 3 - 0
Feed 4 - 0
Feed 5 - 0
Feed 6 - 0
Feed 7 - 0
Feed 8 - 0
Feed 9 - 0
Feed 10 - 0

One of the reasons it doesn't make sense is that I am a couple of
those subscribers when I tested it, and I haven't canceled my
subscription. So, I know there should be at least a few on there.
When I check it again 6 or 12 hours later, it will be up to the same
numbers as the first list.

Thoughts?

When subscriber numbers are close to 0, this isn't uncommon. Remember,
some feed readers don't check the feed every day, so some days a
minimally-subscribed feed will show 0. I'm not sure what you mean by
checking back 6-12 hours later; we only update feed subscriber stats
for all feeds once each day, starting at around 12 midnight CST.

Thanks for the reply and help, Matt. 6 - 12 hours means - I can log
in and check them and they show numbers, then log out, go have a
sammie, log back in, and they all show 0s. Or vice versa. There's a
bug in the system somewhere that they go back to all zeros sometimes.
This has happened 6? times over three weeks.

Those numbers shouldn't "blink" as you describe; can you confirm which
exact page of stats displays you're accessing when you see this
behavior? My Feeds? Analyze > Dashboard? Analyze > Item Use? Something

That sounds like a problem with Blogger's handling of widgets you
already have in place on the "Layouts" view.

A possible fix here?

Hi Matt,

I am in http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/myfeeds

Here is a picture from 6:47 pm yesterday:

and from just now, about 2:09 am today:

This is what is happening. Any ideas?

Thanks!

today, Aug 1, the feed and site stats now show 0 on my site which
wasn't the case previously so it appears you still have a problem.

Got it; it's just a matter of the delay in rolling up the previous
days' subscriber numbers; you will probably see zeroes until well into
the morning, CST. Check back later today and the numbers will probably
be filled in, non-zero, as you expect. We're working on speeding this
up in the short term, and moving everyone to our new infrastructure in
the slightly longer term. Nothing for you to change/adjust.

My website is having this issue too. When I sign in to check stats,
it says I have Zero subscribers, even though I had 410 on Wednesday!

My feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/sugarlaws

Thanks for your help,
Katy

Hi Matt
I know this is the wrong place for this message but since no one from
Feedburner seems to be looking at (or at least responding to) messages
in Publicity tools I thought I'd post here.
I have subscribers that have verified their subscription but they are
still showing up as unverified on my subscriber list. When they tried
to subscribe again they were told they were already subscribed. I
deleted one from the list and asked them to subscribe again. Once
again, they are unverified even after having verified. Deleted
another subscriber and had them subscribe again. They showed up twice
with the same address as unverified. Deleted them again and they now
don't show up at all. This has been going since the 24th.
Help!

Hi - I'm having the same problem as others on this thread. Went from
62/63 subscribers to 0 two days ago. Has not yet reset. URL is

Add me to the list of disappearing Feedburner stats. Every morning for
the last three days I log in and instead of 45+ subscribers, I have
zero. It remains at 0 for many hours. I log in after lunch on the same
day and my numbers are back to where they should be.

My stats were 0 yesterday morning, returned to normal in the
afternoon, but they are back to zero today, August 1. Will my feed
stil lwork, even if I'm seeing 0 subscribers? I updated my site this
morning and am not sure if my subscribers will see the feed or not.

General note, and a close to this thread (since it had to do with a
*Site* statistics issue from over a month ago) — feed subscriber stats
reporting is delayed and we're working on a resolution.

All subsequent notifications about this issue will be posted here:
