FeedBurner Email appereance: awful!

Hello,
in the past 4 months I've converted my recipes newsletter subscribers
to Feedburner Email service but I'm not happy with the results.
In my http://blog.recipes.it posts I use div backgrounds that don't
show up in the FeedBurner e-mail!

For example:

but the output is plain yellow, corresponding to the <div
style="background-color:#ffffcc"> only. The div with the background is
185 pixels high but empty.

What can I do? Is there anything I can say to the css of the blog to
overcome this problem?
