Feedburner HEAD requests that causes DoS

Hi

Recently Feedburner has been acting strange once in a while. It keeps
doing HEAD request on my pages, at the rate of at least 3 reqs/sec for
very long period. It causes serious slows down to my web server. Any
clues about this problem?

Here is a snippet of the accesslog:
