Summary: This is an announcement that ASBESTOS OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE/HANDLER REFRESHER will occur on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 0830 to 1630 Location: North Shore Atrium 6800 Jericho Turnpike Suite 120West Syosset, NY 11791 USA Description: NYS OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE (O&M) REFRESHER (ASB016) NYS O&M certificates are intended for all staff of an employer who perform minor asbestos projects on the premises of that employer; minor asbestos projects are those which will disturb up to 25 linear feet of ACM or up to 10 square feet of ACM. This course meets the training requirements for the OSHA construction asbestos standard 1926.1101, Class III worker, and Class III and Class IV competent person. TOPICS INCLUDE: physical characteristics, medical hazards, respiratory protection, and recognition of damage, deterioration, and delamination of ACM, proper handling techniques, and proper clean-up procedures. COURSE FEE - $155 PAPERWORK & FILING FEE - $75 TOTAL FEE = $230 NYS/NYC ASBESTOS HANDLER/WORKER REFRESHER (ASB002) Under Article 30, Section 902; It shall be unlawful for any contractor to engage in or permit a person employed by the contractor to engage in work on an asbestos project involving the installation, removal, encapsulation, application or enclosure of asbestos material... This training will provide the participant with the necessary background to apply for a NYS Department of Labor Certificate to perform the above-described work. TOPICS INCLUDE: physical characteristics, respiratory protection, regulatory review, medical hazards, and hands-on instructions.
