Hello, i am working on a wall pyrolysing with a backing exposed at
ambiant air (20degrees) with a heat of reaction (it works with HRRPUA)
and when i have extinction, the wall temperature drop down at
20degrees (initial values), and the burning rate increase suddenly.i
tried to fix this with shrink=false (what require to define a residue)
but its worse causing a oscillation of the burning rate before
dropping at 0.
With FDS4 i have good results...do you have an idea of the problem?

Please open this as an issue at http://code.google.com/p/fds-smv and
post along with it the simplest form of your input that shows this
problem.

This was a bug of the solid phase model, related to the burnout
(shrink to zero) of thermoplastic materials (no solid residue). The
problem should have been fixed in RC6. Could you try your case once
more. If you still have problems, please post an issue.

The bug was also shown in the thermplastic example of the verification
guide.
