Re: Loud Noise From Recycling Trucks at 4 a.m.
Sleep is essential for good health and happiness.
I do not understand why we have been so forgiving about this perennial problem.
This din is not an inevitable act of Destiny that can never be challenged and changed.
We do not live in a big city with continuously crowded streets: there are only a few hours every day when Fall Creek endures "heavy traffic" that would slow down these trucks and inconvenience pedestrians and other vehicles.
There are a number of alternatives:
--The recycling company could hire more staff and more vehicles
-- They could use a newer, quieter trucks
-- The trucks could come after morning rush hour
--The trucks could come at 6 am not 4 a.m.
--The company could rotate the route, so that other neighborhoods in their route hear the war sounds before the morning birds are singing
--Our city should hire a recycling company that is sensitive to the issue of making noise in the middle of the night.
A later recycling pickup would improve the quality of life of the neighborhood residents, and the also improve the work experience of the drivers of these trucks.
Will anyone take the lead on this project, by first creating a petition ?
