to compile it in windows using mingw. I already tried to compile it
using the MSYS+MinGW environment, without success...

Hi,
FBReader was never compilable for pocketpc platform, sorry.
As for your error message, looks like you try to link objects compiled
with incompatible options (I think, -frtti & -fno-rtti).

Ive been realy impressed with it on the N900, having just moved from Mobi on a pocketPC.
had a bit of trouble getting teh touch screen scroll working but once it was going its been pretty smooth and easy

Just finished reading the 1904 novel Calumet "K" [1904...] my FIRST
ebook, using FBreader on Vista64 running n a laptop w/ 14 inch screen.
It was delightful!
As a first time FBreader user, a couple of useability notes:
1) out of the box, it would be friendly to guide the new user to
adjust the font and font size.

I hadn't realized that mobi/pdb files are supported. I've tried a few
non-DRM'd books from Baen and they work well on my phone (HTC Magic
with FBReaderJ 0.5.23).

I suggest looking on the Forums at mobileread.com for discussions of
DRM issues. Look for ADEPT in the thread title (since Adobe's DRM is
called ADEPT).

Hi Ron,
Run the Preferences Dialog (click a gear icon on the toolbar or just
press a hotkey 'O'). Then select 'Styles' tab. You'll see options
named 'Family' (you can select a font name) and 'Size' (this is font
size in pixels). Select your preferred values, press 'OK' or 'Apply'
and enjoy. :)

I am just starting with FBReader on Windows. (plan to also use w/Ubuntu).
I am puzzled that I can't figure out how to change the font or font
size in FBReader.
My eyes are imperfect. ;)

My public library lends digital books, some of which are in epub format, others in Mobipocket, others in Adobe PDF. The epub books are supposed to be usable on the Sony Reader, but fbreader doesn't recognize them at all. In contrast, eReader sees them and says they have DRM. Is there any way to read them on Android using fbreader?

From the release notes for FBReaderJ 0.5.0: "Experimental Mobipocket
format support has been added. FBReaderJ support only modern non-DRM'd
Mobipocket books."
The ebook you reference probably is in the "modern" MobiPocket format
(i.e. it has the metadata needed by FBReaderJ), but all ebooks you buy
from mobipocket.com have DRM (i.e. are encrypted).
