Alan: Thanks for the details re epub (I believe that was your post). I tried various locations and just could not get FBReader to recognize .epub on the iLiad. Mystery solved. Best of luck to AdamB in addressing the issue.

You and Bob D: See

FBReader running on OLPC laptop. Epub books soon for One Laptop per Child kids—and public libraries interested in laptop?

My XO is on its way to me or soon will be; so ideally I'll soon have some good news to share. Let's hope that this port can do .epub. If not, I'm almost sure it'll come in time.

Happy holidays,
David

The XO is running Fedora, so have you tried the Fedora Desktop version
(see the FBReader Download page)?  For instructions on yum for the XO
see http://www.olpcaustria.org/mediawiki/index.php/Xo_setup_user_guide

The version Bennett Todd has working on the XO is the standard i386
Fedora Core 7 RPM for Desktop version 8.8.2. This will definitely
read EPUB.

Great! Thanks, Alan. Meanwhile I've added Bennett's installation instructions to the TeleBlog and would welcome any additions, via the comments section. People tuning in late can go to:

Will add your info on .epub. Thanks, Alan!
