currently I'm working on win32 version of fbreader. (Version 0.8.0
will be released for Windows XP desktop too.) Unfortunately, I know
how to write code, but I don't know how to create good-looking toolbar
icons.
So, icon set for FBReader desktop version is urgently wanted.
Icon set should contain icons for
-- library list
-- recent books list
-- add book dialog
-- book info dialog
-- preferences
-- scroll back
-- scroll forward
-- table of contents
-- text search
-- find next
-- find previous
-- rotate screen
Moreover, we need small icons for library view:
-- remove book
-- show book info dialog
-- show author info dialog
-- show series info dialog
Please, help FBReader! ;))

What's wrong with icons from Unix desktop version of FBReader?
Hmm, for me, nothing is wrong. :) However,
1) these icons are not in "Windows style";
2) afaik, the most frequent mentioned problem of fbreader is "not
good-looking" ("too plain") icons.

Nice! We'll have got a W32 version of a great plucker reader so we can
share books with Windows users in a open format.
I would suggest you to visit http://www.famfamfam.com where you can find
some icons that, If I'm not in a mistake, are under a Creative Commons
By License.
Regards and thanks,
Álvaro.

Apart from famfamfam Silk, the only "free" icon sets I have found with
books is Sweetie (version 2):
and (version 1):
http://www.joeofarc.com/resources/
It has icons that are a relatively close fit to the needed set.
Perhaps someone with graphics editing skills will volunteer to
customize it for FBReader.
Also, this greyscale suite might be of interest if FBReader is ever
ported to an E-Ink device:
