Hi,

I notice a rather annoying bug in fbreader 0.8.8

Each time I add a book or edit the details it duplicates the author
info on each book included. So I end up with an author description
have dozen of times the same name.

As a side not e it would be nice if the 'about' feature actually
mentioned the version.

Hugo.

Could you please advise what platform you running FBReader on?

That's a good catch.
"About" page that doesn't mention version number is kinda weird.

That would be FBR 0.8.8 on Fedora 8 (Installed through yum).

Hi Hugo,

could you, please, sent me (to geom...@fbreader.org) content of your
~/.FBReader directory. It contains list of the e-books presented in
your book list, with all author information -- I hope, this helps to
understand your problem.

One more question -- from which repository? Fedora 8 packages are not
downloadable from the official site and there is a small chance that
problem is in your package, not in the upstream FBReader.

Hi Hugo,

thank you for the information posted here and in your message. This is
bug in the upstream version, not fedora-specific. It is reproducable
on my computer, so I hope to fix it today or tomorrow.

Thanks!

Red Hat is notified of upstream fix. (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/

As someone who has done quite a bit of packaging. I have a request for
your version scheme. Can you skip the letters and use a numbering scheme?

So instead of 0.8.8d being the fourth bugfix release of 0.8.8 name it
0.8.8.4 so packagers can work with the exact version info and not risk
the problems of having a version sort issue.

I mean. What is the latest version if you can choose between 0.8.8d and
0.8.9? Computers are relative plain entities and they are likely to get
it wrong.

Hugo.

PS: As one who started programming with HEX codes I can say that 8d is
much bigger then 9. ;-)
