I am having this issue under the latest version on my N800 running
the
most current version of ITOS2008. Versions are as of the date on
this
post (as in I am not in the mood to look them up, but can if ya
really
need them)
Last night I spent a very frustrating 4-5hrs adding about 30 books to
the library. One reason it took so long because the tap navigation
for the library tree does not seem to function as expected. Often
not
the same from attempt to attempt. I eventually was forced to open
each book then use the menu to access the "Book Info".
Often taping, with a stylus, results in the page either moving up or
down. Often nothing happens, this I assume is due to the delay
between accpeting taps and is correct. But often I can tap directly
on the "+" symbol OR the "book info" icon and the page scrolls
instead
of opening the tree or opening the Book Info dialog box.
I know ITOS has issues with phantom taps but the newest version AND
the Maemo (which is not the name of the actual OS on the N8x0 devices
btw...it's ITOS) tab which has settings on how to respond to tap/
keypress stuff. The Maemo tab settings worked great, until I
actually
began using the library tree for real.
Another pretty frustrating issue is when returning to the library
from
the Book Info dialog it never takes me back to the last location so
you must navigate again to the place where you were previously. This
is especially frustrating when adding the meta-data field values to
organize the "Unknown Authors" branch as well as other "generic"
branches.
Over all of the 4-5hrs spent I imagine that a good 3-3.5 of those
hours were spent trying to find a way to navigate the library
efficently.
While I am not truly complaining here, as I know this is a HUGE
project for one guy to get things running on so many platforms. It's
very appreciated. Still, it affects my level of satisfaction with
what is supposed to be a relaxing thing for me and that is reading on
the tablet. I had allowed 2hrs to add new books last night thinking
it would take less then an hour (should have been 15minutes really)
and it took over twice that long and really detracted from the
relaxation I got from the 30mins I had left to read before bed.
I am to the point where I might as well go back to my Sony Clie nx73v
as my reading device with Mobipocket reader...it just works.
So, any suggestions or reference info will be greatly appreciated
