Howdy everyone. I'm researching modern shape-note composition practices for dissertation work at UC San Diego. I'm curious about the Sacred Harp Publishing Company's process of finding and selecting new tunes for the 1991 revision. I've heard that the publishing company issued a call for new works in its newsletter, sometime around 1985-86. Does anybody remember this, or - better yet - happen to have a copy of this lying around - it should only be 15+ years old at this point right? ;-)
Did anyone on this board submit a composition? Or was anyone here actually involved in that revision process?
