Subject: Looking for a few singing books

Hello all,

I am looking for a few singing books. Though some of these are gospel
singing books, I was hoping this very intelligent group might offer some
helpful hints.

*Heavenly Highway Hymns*

*Mull’s Singing Convention *No. 5

*Jesus is All to Me* (This is a blue book with clouds)

*Singing Praise*

*Parker Book 2010* “Historical Gospel Shape Note Singing” by David Parker

*Matches Grace* (Been Speer Music) complied & edited by Harold Lane

*Victory* (complied by Charles Towler)

Thanks so much to anyone who can help,

Derrick

Derrick--

I was able to purchase Heavenly Highway Hymns at an ordinary Christian book
store only a few years ago. So for all I know it is still in print and
available that way.  For all of your books though, my best advice is to
browse the website abebooks.com and if you don't find them all right then
you can create an account there and set up a "want" so when a used book
store that uses this website has one of the books in your "want", you'll
get an email telling you.

Amazon.com has a similar set-up with used book stores, but I find the
prices higher on amazon.com than on abebooks.com

Derrick:

Karen, as always, has given you excellent advice. "Heavenly Highway Hymns" is definitely still in print:

http://www.brentwoodbenson.com/search/search.do?menuid=12264&seriesfe...

Copies are available through the above site, Christian book stores as Karen mentions, and online booksellers like amazon.com. It's entirely possible that some of the other books, especially recent ones, might also be available at you local Christian book store.

And as Karen says, abebooks.com would also be an excellent place to look; at least one of the books you're looking for ("Singing Praises") is available there now and you can sent up a "want" for the ones that aren't. Another option would be to contact the people that run the following web sites or phone numbers:

For Mull's Singing Convention:  http://www.mullsongbooks.com/index.html
[Only No. 7 is mentioned, but they might still have copies of  No. 5 or be able to tell you where you could find a copy]

For Ben Speer: http://www.stampsbaxterschool.com/
[Ben Speer Music doesn't apparently have a website, but their phone number in Nashville is (615) 329-9999]

For books by Charles Towler:  http://ngsgm.com/page2/page9/towler.html
[Gospel Heritage Music doesn't apparently have a website, but their phone number in Cleveland, TN is (423) 472-1260]

I've had no luck tracking down information on "Jesus is All to Me" or "Parker Book 2010." Hopefully someone else can help with these.
