We have the offer of a special event for December, from Vicki Solomon – see below.

Meanwhile, please check into your availability for January, both to host and in response to the burning question, what happens when the first Sunday is New Year’s Day? (I personally think there’s no better way to celebrate than shape notes, but your obligations may vary.)

Hopefully we can line up dates and places through June pretty soon. Gregg and Aris, thanks for your generous offers, I’d say you can have your pick of dates. (Me personally, I’m crazed to go to Brentwood, especially when the days are longer and the drive is scenic. Church looks really cute on the website.)

Please come to Vicki's Yule Sing:  Pagan songs of Dark and Light

7 to 9 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2011

50 Wildwood Gardens, Piedmont, CA

You may bring friends to sing with us.

I have an extensive collection of music handouts for this event. If you let me know that you are coming, I can make sure to have enough.

In addition, I will serve dinner at 5:30 for 24 people who make dinner reservations. Let me know a week in advance if you have any food or timing issues.

Hi Betty,

Sorry to say we cannot host Shape Note this coming Sunday due to a previous commitment.

We are still interested in hosting a future sing with a bit more notice.

Good luck,

Gregg

Subject:
East Bay Shape Note - December?

Last call - anyone interested in hosting a December singing? First
Sunday (Dec. 4) is coming right up.

We sing from
4:30 to 6:30, followed by a potluck.
Basic requirements to host: about a dozen chairs or equivalent, and
acceptable acoustic separation from neighbors.

First Sunday in January is New Year's Day - incapacitating holiday or
prime singing time?

First Sunday in January has come and gone – any interest in and location for singing on the second Sunday?  Excerpts from last month’s emails follow. Sorry to keep nagging. Is East Bay Shape Note still a viable organization?
