Polk County UW-Extension is also looking to hire an Americorps VISTA member for the summer to work in local foods and food security issues.  The VISTA member will work to expand access to locally produced and nutritious foods for the people of Polk County.  They will work directly with the Agriculture Agent (me) and the Family Living Agent on some coalition building and research around food access.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate person.  The tentative service dates (flexible) are June 21^st to August 15^th of this year.  The minimum age requirement is 18 years old.  It is a paid volunteer position!  The member will receive a living stipend of $892 per month.  If they complete their service successfully, they will receive either a $1,174 Education Award or a $250 monetary award.
