Nick,

Are you using FarCry with the NearCry blog integrated? I'm just
starting with FarCry and need a blog integration. Thanks for any

Hi Pete, i only setup farcry online one time as a test case to check
if it worked out on shared hosting, eventually it did. Can you share
the new error?
Most problems i had where due to likely wrong image paths and not be
able to write folders if they not yet exist, all due to the shared
hosting environment.

Hi i am using the services of hostmysite also and also encountered the
permission issue on the shared hosting package, it's due to the
sandbox security and they can fix that as you already found out.

You don't have and will get permission for the c:\websites path as it
is indeed the root of their server, you will have to check your own

After I had time to reflect on the error, I called my shared hosting
company and asked if it was possible for my domain to have read
permissions setup for the WEB-INF\cftags folder on the server. Turns
out, they do allow it and I was able to install successfully. It may
be helpful to mention this requirement in the documentation for shared

I have similar times, but I always thought it was due to my Oracle 8i
database and FC's coding for that rather than FC itself.

Hi folks,

Are other people that are using FC 5.0.2 having issues with the speed
the site tree loads?

Mine takes minutes to load a branch when you expand it? There are only
5 children as well which is what confuses me.

Yes. flushcache will clear out the object / webskin cache, updateapp
should only be necessary if the type schema changes.

The only thing I know is that for files, when they are Archived, they get
the ObjectID added to the front of the file name when it is put into the
Media Archive. That's why it's changing the name. As to why it is not
finding the path, I have no idea.
