Is SSL supposed to work?

The first thing I tried Fake against, the app I'm currently working
on, is using SSL - but hitting https://localhost:8443 results in "load
failed" and "http://localhost.com" in the address bar.

(It works just fine in Safari, of course.)

10.6.4, Safari 5.0, in case that helps.

I've got the same issue - for a local https site I'm trying to use it
on I get the following message:

"Load Failed

Reason : The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be
connecting to a server that is pretending to be “ys.local” which could
put your confidential information at risk."

I use a bogus certificate locally of course, which is fine for all my
other browsers - can't really put fake to much use until I can load
sites in this manner.

i think there's a workaround for this. please let me know whether this works.

visit the site in safari, and when the cert dialog appears, select
"Accept always". if you've already accepted the cert in safari, i'm
not sure how to get back to this dialog....

after doing this, you should be able to view the page in Fake too, but
I'm not positive.

please let me know whether this works for you.

also, i'll look into support for accepting invalid certs, but i'm not
sure when i'll be able to get to it. hopefully before 1.0.

Thanks Todd, that worked just fine for me.

Like Caleb I was using a fake cert but had stopped short of "trust
always" in Safari, this should have occurred to me. In my case I
didn't get much in the way of error information to go on.

I tested this in Fake and got the behaviour described earlier.

Yes, this worked for me too. Fyi, for anyone reading this, they kind
of buried the 'accept always' option within Safari - to get to it you
have to click "Show certificate" first when the popup appears, not
"Continue" (clicking "Continue" will just allow the session until such
time as you quit Safari).
