Hi all,
Thanks to all of you who attended tonight, I feel like I have been hit by a bus!!! Facilitating an online event is stressful, I think I was expecting it to be slightly easier, as those who have had conferences to date seemed to handle all with ease!!
Sorry to the people who were unable to get into the class, Sarah included, (I hope I don’t have to repeat my conference again for assessment! )
I had originally scheduled the class with a free WiZiQ account, this link was posted to the wiki, however after meeting with Nellie and Gladys earlier last week, it was decided that I would use their integrating technology account, I updated the wiki with the new link, changed the title of the class (so that it could fit in the space provideJ) and sent out invites. In the back of my mind I was worrying about this causing confusion, so send out several emails with updated instructions, details e.t.c. I was not clear enough in my email communication to avoid the confusion, so big lesson learnt for me, and again my apologies to those shut out tonight L
My reflection on the entire event experience will be on my blog in the next day or two. (will wait for the flashbacks and shaking to subside first!!:))
The link to the recording will be there also,
Regards,
Catherine
Hi Catherine/Stephen
Your emails prompted me to write a few notes. Even though I have “done my event” I still feel the pain!!! The stuff that goes in the background doesn’t really come across when you are “live”- so we may have appeared at ease on the outside but I am sure we all had plenty of ‘those’ moments- well I did anyway. Thanks for the wrap up. I had plans to make some notes after my event as well, but time has slipped away, so will try and blog over the weekend.
I too felt like I was doubling up on the information for connecting and had a couple of people looking for me in Elluminate , not Skype. So as your presenters said last night- Catherine, we have been able to learn a lot from these experiences.
Hopefully the shaking subsides soon……..have a coffee!!!!
Cheers
Debra

Thanks Debra,
As Stephen also stated in his email …the encouragement and support from all FOC09 attendees certainly helps during the conference experience, so thanks to all!
Regards,
Catherine
Ditto!!! I can’t even remember what people said- but I have a 50MB recording which I hope to do something with L
Thanks Meena,
Last night’s presentation from Nellie and Gladys has certainly made me think about the many, mostly free, opportunities the internet provides us, that we can take advantage of for ongoing learning, teaching, and facilitating. This is just the beginning…….
I have just remembered I have yet to join in on your asynchronous event, so will do so this afternoon!!
Regards,
Catherine
