Hi,

I have a question regarding the centre point of the head. I'm wondering if the head rotates around its three dimensional centre when the pitch and/or angle are changed. ie., does the 3D centre remain in the same position on the screen?

Just to clarify, I need to know if the 3D centre will be in the same position when I capture 2D images from different angles. For example, if I captured two images from Facegen (just as .BMP files), one where the head is facing left by 16 degrees, and the other where the head is facing left by 32 degrees, and overlaid one on top of the other, would the 3D centres of each head be aligned? I think this would be achieved if the model does rotate upon its 3D centre.

Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers,

Raj.

Hi Raj,

Yes, In FaceGen Modeller the head rotates around the point defined by the average of the vertices.

But No, two photofit faces taken from different photos at different angles will not align perfectly, because the photofit will estimate the shapes slightly different each time (depending on lighting, angle, etc.)

Best wishes,

Thanks Guru. Much appreciated.
