Is there a way to create higher resolution images of the faces that
are created? Thanks!

Yes. Choose a detail texture (1024x1024 and 2048x2048 detail textures
are provided with Modeller) or use the photofit, which will allow up
to 4096x4096 (if you have a very large source image):

I used photofit and started with an image (3872x2592). I used photo
detail as the detail texture. The JPEG image created is only
400x400. Is there a way to create a better JPEG image?

The important thing is how bit the face is inside that image. Also,
are you using the latest version of Modeller ?

The face is about 1/3 of the total image.
I'm using 3.5.
