Hello

Inspired by an email from Jran on gotm-users I decided to update the
virtual machine I created some time ago.

The VM is Linux Mint 14 coonfigured with the cinnamon desktop (others
can be selected at login). The following code and utilities are
installed and checked:

FABM, GOTM and FABM - compiling using gfortran and system default NetCDF
and MPICH libraries.

cdo, nco, udunits installed and managed by the environment-modules
package.

editscenario.py, pyncview.py + the getm-utils utilities.

gotm and gotmgui.py are available as links in ~/bin and thus available
through out.

I've done some compilation test and I think everything works as it
should. Please report if you experience otherwise.

The VM can be download from here:
www.gotm.net/data_files/mint_nadia.zip - 9GB

Karsten

PS: The VM is configured to use 2GB of memory and 2 cores. Can be
changed if so wished.

PPS: To get full-screen (if it does not do so from the start)
select/de-select the full screen option once or twice.

PPPS: I've installed my version on a SDD - it is fast - consider
investigating in an external SDD.

Install GOTM:
mkdir ~/GOTM && cd ~/GOTM/
git clone git://gotm.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/gotm/gotm gotm-git

Hi Karsten,

I was trying to compile GOTM to see if compiling works becuase I want to modify the source code later, so I typed:

charlie@ocean:~/GOTM/gotm-git/src$ make

and it gave an error:

Rules.make:161: /home/charlie/GOTM/gotm-git/compilers/compiler.: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target `/home/charlie/GOTM/gotm-git/compilers/compiler.'.  Stop.

I know this question is too simple to ask, but how to solve the problem? I didn't change any file in the VM. Thank you very much.
