Hi Gennadi

My hotstart is NetCDF.

I copied the setup to a different cluster - and here I don't experience any problems.

There is and error from glibc related to free() - I'll dig further.

Hello Karsten,

I had a similar problem - running without benthic variables was OK, but pelagic+benthic crashed. Due to some reason my restart files were not in netcdf format. After switching back to netcdf hotin/hotout I could run the model successfully.

Hi Richard

Thanks for the info - I did a lot of further investigations yesterday. I still have problems but the benthic state variables are actually written to the hotstart file - but then I get an error - from glibc and about not being able to free some memory.

This problem only seems to occur when I have benthic component switch on. Very strange!!! I'll move the setup to another computer an try it out there - so more to follow ...

Hi Karsten,

I also have a system running with benthic&pelagic state variables and in the code that i use for that study (not up2date), i have fabm_ben in both code (write_restart_ncdf.F90) and hotstart file.
The same infrastructure is present in the developers version.

Are you sure, that you have a model with benthic state variables in the fabm.nml?
It seems that you can only have benthic state_variables in GETM, if there are pelagic state variables...(?)

Hello

Cross posting

We are running a GETM with FABM/benthic/pelagic model.

Everything seems OK - except that the benthis state variables are not
written to the hostart file. We've fabm_pel but not fabm_ben?
