Journal of Leeds University Philosophical Society

Spring 2011 - Call for Papers
Submission Deadline: Monday 21st February, 2011

We are now accepting submissions for the inaugural issue of the
Journal of Leeds University Philosophical Society.

Guidelines for Essay Submission:

We accept papers of any length, but suggest that submissions are
limited to a maximum of around 5,000 words. Work should be:

- carefully structured
- clearly written
- knowledgeable about a given subject area
- offering a new argument or point of view
- not just written for area specialists

We publish work in both the analytic and continental traditions, and
recognise the difference in methodology across traditions. If your paper is in the
analytic tradition it should be argumentative rather than descriptive; if your paper is
in the continental tradition then we are happy to accept original descriptive work.

Format

Papers should begin with an abstract of around 500 words. References
should be footnoted in the following format: Russell (1912), p.40. Referenced works should
be listed at the end of the paper in the following format: Russell, B. (1912) The
Problems of Philosophy, London: Williams and Norgate.

Submission Information and Deadline:

Papers must be submitted by email to ph0...@leeds.ac.uk, in one of the
following formats:
odf, .doc, .docx, .pdf. A cover page should be attached, detailing your name,
institution, email address, phone number, current mailing address, and
the title of the submitted paper.

Submissions are to be received by Monday 21st February, 2011 (at the latest).

For any other inquiries, please contact the above address.
