We'll probably never know, since devs rarely publish their servers inner structure. But, if that'll make you feel better, here are a couple of treads about using haskell for mmorpg:

My own opinion: haskell isn't used in big mmorpg - hard to find developers to develop(1) and maintain(2) server. Maybe in some indie, small mmorpgs.
