y'know, i didn't notice that that last array element
was in reality unindexed until i sent the code out
yesterday--and was wondering (and hoping) someone
would notice the bug----
and yet, yeah, the thing WORKS and i don't know
why...a more unforgiving language would tell me that
an array index was out of bounds...apparently PHP is a
very kind language...

the GD library does offer quite a few options,
including shapes and text, and one can actually
dynamically create images from other images with
it...all of which i plan on using at some point, jut
to experiment---
this was, after all, just a test of something, a
plaything...i would want a full-fledged work to
incorporate the data in such a way that the data is
acknowledged and WORKED...this just uses data to
determine certain things...
(y'know, i don't think there are any functions that
work out line thickness in PHP's GD library...anyone
know of any classes that might do this?)

More art projects that will never be realized due to the dearth of financial
support, alas.

Use a computer set-up to turn on and off all of the dynamic features of an
entire museum space: light, temperature, etc. The effect should be more or
less subtle and unobtrusive.
The space should be open to the public in its usual fashion, and filled with
its usual art.

Use a computer set-up in an outdoors urban setting that causes motions to
happen that model a lively natural wilderness, with simulated wind that
rustles the leaves of the trees, simulated birds in the bushes, simulated
rodents under the earth etc.

Fake security cameras that merely detect motion without recording to video
can be found amazingly cheap nowadays. (Under $5, runs on 2 AA batteries.)
Buy 100 of these or so, and mount them on a museum wall and ceiling in a
grid pattern for mass motion-following of the various viewers.
WHEW! Fake security cameras -- what a concept! Not only have we become a
full-blown surveillance society, but we now admit the simulacrum of
surveillance (the placebo effect) as an acceptable mode of socialization.
What could possibly be next?
