Saving, Castle, Brig

ancient castle at Brig / Brieg / Brigue ... the castle walls alas ...
the light ... night-time uneasy time ... the inspiration of Maud
Liardon ... her religious beliefs ... she is Savior, Unsaved ... we,
Apostolic ... true miracle of the walls of caves ... caverns looming
.. O listen Immortals! ... unspoken, what one or another ... what
hands ... what holds one against others ... the One at Brieg ... the
Others at Brique ... the One who Saves ... the Others Unsaved ...

Alan--

I don't know what you are going to do with these pieces, or even whether
they will stay as they are in separate fragments, but they are truly
beautiful. Especially this one. And the eyes...the eyes...

Thanks,
Martha

Thank you. These were shot in infra-red against the castle wall in the
middle of the night...

Hi...I am not sure if this is the right place right time but maybe it
means a job for someone so let’s put some bread on the table......
Four postdoc positions have been announced at HUMlab at the University of
Umeå in the north east of Sweden (exotic...no?). Here are some details:

Four postdoctoral positions in digital humanities are available at HUMlab,
Umeå University, Sweden from January 1, 2007 (the actual start date may be
later). The postdoctoral fellowships are for one year with a possible
extension of one year. Applicants will be expected to have a Ph.D. in a
humanities discipline and a specialty in any of these four research areas:
participatory media, digital cultural heritage, digital art, and
electronic literature. In exceptional cases, other areas and backgrounds
can be of interest as well.

More here (images, links, info): http://blog.humlab.umu.se/?page_id=374

HUMlab is a digital studio and lab for teaching and research where the new
humanities meet with other traditions and rearrange themselves in
meaningful and exciting ways....
