Call for Participants in special camps.

In cooperation with
SEEDS Iceland, Radi Vidi Pats - Latvia, InformaGiovani Italy, Realization Croatia, Estyes Estonia, Sci Hellas -  Greece, Maison des associations - Luxembourg

During summer 2013 a list of special youth exchanges will take place in Italy, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Croatia

For summer 2013 IG foresees the implementation of 5 Trilateral Youth Exchanges between the months of June and August in Croatia, Estonia, Iceland, Italy and Latvia and will involve different groups of young people
Projects will involve young people between 18-25 (where specifically mentioned, also minors can be involved).
They will have to provide parenthal authorization before the departure, scanned, signed together with the copy of the parent signing.
Participants will join international activities and  as according with each project description  and will carry on volunteering activities on different issues.
For each project it is stated the country and therefore the nationals involved and admitted to participate.

Financial conditions
For all the YE the travel reimbursement foreseen is up to 50%, and also up to 300 euros for tickets.
Financial reimbursement will be given through bank transfer only after having received ALL  documents related with travel cost ( boarding passes, receipts, bus ticket, metro ticket, train ticket, etc) in original.
Once in the project, participants will have accommodation, food and insurance provided by the Project.

IG staff will make selections and will notify all chosen participants as soon as possible.   
After that date participants will receive info sheet and will be allowed to book tickets and send their bookings as a proof of their confirmation of attendance.
They will be then required to keep all travel costs invoices and receipts from the coming and return tickets and to send it to the IG office. Lack of receipts or boarding passes will mean less travel reimbursement.

CROATIA – Youth week in Croatia
Dates 01.08. – 13.08. 2013
Open for participants from LATVIA, CROATIA, ICELAND
Place, Kastel Lukšić

Short description :

Work: The participants are expected to help in organization of the Youth week: environmental activities, cultural workshops and with organization of the concerts/rock evenings with the local youth of Kaštela: such as construction of the stage and associated objects, concert preparation.

The free days will be on 3rd, 4th and 12th of August. The working hours are more or less six per day, 10 till 13 in the morning and 17 till 20 in the afternoon, expect on the evenings of the rock concerts working hours are from 18 till 24 h including the breaks.

ESTONIA - MENS SANA IN CORPORE SANO    
Dates 27.07 - 09.08

Place :NOVA, Estonia
This project is open for participants under 18 of age. Parental Authorization required.

Short description

This project is organized for teenagers and adults by youth sport club Lukas-Basket which has been running national youth camps for 13 years and International ones for the past 2 years. This year International teenage camps will be hosted again on seaside in the West of Estonia in Laanemaa County in the municipality of Nova in addition to this youth exchnage. Beautiful nature, numerous historical places, 200 years long tradition of health resort, unique cultural events are the treasures of the County. Nova with warm sea, white sand, mushroom and berry crops, several lakes, cobble stone road and many places of interest is ideal place for leisure. The aim of Nova camp is to give young people possibility to have active, healthy and meaningful summer vacations with different sport adventures, to enjoy unspoiled nature and to learn how to live in harmony with it,  also to explore and realize own capacities. The program will include water activities, sport and ball games, eco-hikes, bicycle trips to places of interest, horse riding, fishing, rowing, sailing, acquaintance with local culture and many other exciting things. “Mens sana in corpore sano”/ “Healthy Spirit in Healthy Body” – this is the message of the camp! Besides, camp gives possibility for intensive contacts between local youth and their peers from abroad, showing youngsters the diversity of world cultures, broadening their horizons and encouraging active communication through games and creative activities. Finally there will be some voluntary work for nature protection. The area of the camp is about 3 hectares and it can host about 50 youngsters on one shift. The age of local participants is 16-25. Local participants are Russian-speaking teenagers from Estonia. In addition to them there will be another young people from abroad. ICELAND - The Wilderness Museum
Dates 19.06 - 03.07
Open for participants from ITALY, ESTONIA ICELAND
Place: Laugarfell, Iceland
This project is open for participants under 18 of age. Parental Authorization required.

Short description  

Work and project: SEEDS volunteers will be working on environmental oriented tasks within this project in the East of Iceland in cooperation with the Wilderness Museum. We will construct walking paths and mark the hiking path. Furthermore they will clean up and beautify the area.  The working plan is 8 hours work day, from Monday to Friday. While volunteers help to preserve the local environment, they  will explore the surroundings of the location and enjoy free time activities arranged in cooperation with the local host.

LATVIA Cultural Heritage in Kuldiga
Dates 12-25,  AUGUST 2013
Open for participants from LATVIA, ESTONIA, ITALY

This project is open for participants under 18 of age. Parental Authorization required. (To be confirmed)

Project description

Work: The work to be done during this exchange-camp is connected with very fundamental reconstruction work in the old building. It will be organized in 3 groups:
1.    preparing the material (clay mixture) and rebuilding an old tile stove;
2.    restoration of the ceiling beams, isolation and painting of the ceiling with eco-materials. Group will be lead by professional restorers;
3.    installation of the sewerage tubes in the house.

ITALY, SICILY  
Dates : 17TH- 29TH August 2013
Open for participants :from Estonia, Croatia, Italy
Place: Alcamo,
This project is open for participants under 18 of age. Parental Authorization required.

Project description

Work: Participants will carry on environmental activities which may take place also inside confiscated goods from mafia. There will be also some moments when participants will do manual activities connected with the main theme of the YE ( e.g. creative recycling, beach waste collection, restoration activities, gardening, etc)Working material will be provided.

Study Part : there may be activities related environmental education, recycling and education to legality linked with environment.

Food and Accommodation: volunteers will be lodged in a school  equipped with inflable matrasses. They will cook their meals together organized in turns  also for cleanings.

Language : English but knowledge of Italian is welcome
Venue : Trapani province, Sicily
